This site is intended to give you an overall view of adenomyosis from my research and experience. I am in no way a physician and any information that you read here should be discussed with your physician.

Definition of Adenomyosis

Uterine thickening caused when endometrial tissue, which normally lines the inside of the uterus, extends outward into the fibrous and muscular tissue of the walls of the uterus. Adenomyosis is sometimes called "endometriosis of the uterus", or "internal endometriosis".  It is benign and does not cause cancer. The endometrial cells penetrate deep into the muscles of the walls of the uterus, when this happens the uterus becomes enlarged and boggy. Adenomyosis is often misdiagnosed as Fibroid Tumors. Most women who suffer from Adenomyosis, also suffer from other female diseases such as Fibroid Tumors and Endometriosis.
